Tension & Trauma Releasing
TRE at LifeShine offers a gentle, body-led approach to supporting nervous system balance. Stress, shock and prolonged pressure do not only live in the mind. They are held in the body, in patterns of tension, guardedness and readiness that can persist long after the original cause has passed. TRE works with a natural physiological response present in all humans – a subtle neurogenic tremor that helps the nervous system release excess tension. This response is not forced or performed. It emerges when the body feels sufficiently supported to let go.
Through a series of simple, low-effort movements, TRE invites this reflex to arise in a controlled and contained way. The process is quiet, often subtle, and guided by the body’s own pacing rather than conscious effort or emotional processing.
At LifeShine, TRE is offered as part of an individualised therapeutic approach. Each session begins with a conversation to ouline what you can expect in the session and in the days following, as well as some specific questions that allow your therapist to evaluate the state of your nervous system and the appropriate support. The session itself is gently facilitated, with close attention to comfort. You remain fully present and in control throughout.
People often explore TRE when they feel persistently tense, over-activated or unable to fully rest, even when life appears outwardly calm. Clients frequently describe a sense of grounding, improved sleep, softened stress responses and a greater ease within their body over time. TRE integrates naturally with other LifeShine therapies that support regulation, recovery and long-term resilience.
TRE at LifeShine is offered with care, respect and sensitivity to individual readiness. This is not a technique for pushing through or revisiting experiences. It is a way of allowing the body to complete what it already knows how to do, gently and at its own pace.
